1. Which walk will suit me?

It’s about what you wish to achieve or what you want to see.  The walking grades and distances are a guide as at we are happy to accommodate all levels of fitness and abilities, so drop us a line and we’ll help you to choose the most rewarding experience.

2. How many people can be in our group? can accommodate a group of up to 12 on a single walk but package trips for larger groups can be easily arranged with the assistance of other qualified guides to ensure safe and enjoyable walking.

3. Are group discounts available?

Absolutely for groups of 6 or more.

4. Can arrange the whole package?

Yes, please get in touch with your tailor-made requirements and we will use our island’s tourism partners to provide you with the best advice for your visit or holiday.

5. Can I bring my dog on the walk?

A few of our walks are dog friendly but here on the island our wildlife is really important to us, so restrictions are put in place in certain areas throughout the year. Let us know beforehand and we will make sure it’s a suitable walk for your four legged companion.

6. What distance and grade are the walks?

Family Walks – gentle walks around suitable locations which include interest for the whole family including the pooch

2 Hour Strolls – Flat or gently rolling landscape using paths, tracks, and quiet country roads with average to good surfaces. Some walking on gentle slopes, sometimes with steps and stiles en route.  Most suitable for walkers who enjoy an unhurried stroll of approx. 3 miles

Leisurely half day guided walks  – Varied landscape with occasional short demanding slopes and possibly steps, stiles, or kissing gates. Maybe possible coastal or near cliff routes  walked at a relaxed pace with ample rest opportunities. Suitable for keen walkers who enjoy walking at a leisurely pace of approx. 6 miles

Active half day guided walks– Varied landscapes on paths and occasional challenging slopes. Stiles, kissing gates or steps and possible uneven paths in places. Suitable for keen walkers and anyone regularly active of approx. 6 miles

Full day guided walk – Possible challenging walking at times due to height gained and/or distance covered over rough countryside. Suitable for experienced walkers who are fit and active. Expect steep slopes, narrow and uneven paths with stiles and kissing gates of approx. 10 miles

Calf of Man guided walk – Varied landscape with occasional short demanding slopes. Possible steps, stiles, or kissing gates. Maybe possible coastal or near cliff routes and walked at a relaxed pace with rest opportunities. 40 minute boat trip and berthing on embarkation require a general fitness.  Walking for approx. 3 miles.  4/5 hr round trip

7. How do I arrive at the start point?

All walks start and finish points are accessible by public transport : Bus, Steam Train, Electric Tram or Snaefell Mountain Railway and will be waiting at the start point to meet you. If you have your own transport then Walking.imwill meet you at the pre-arranged start point. Private group transport transfers are not a problem and available island wide.

8. How easy is it to get to the start points?

The island’s public transport offers fantastic views adding to a memorable day out and has island wide coverage. Please contact us for further information, timetables etc if required.

9. Are travel costs included?

No unless by prior arrangement.

10. What shall I wear?

Good sturdy walking shoes or boots are advisable and layered clothing that can be added or removed and waterproofs just in case!

11. What shall I bring on my walk?

Apart from a sense of adventure suggests:

  • A camera
  • Snacks and water and if you’re on a full day walk remember a packed lunch
  • Sunscreen and Hat
  • Any medication that you could require during the walk
  • Toilet paper
  • A comfortable backpack to carry everything
  • Walking Poles if you use them

12. Will carry first aid kit?

Yes, as a qualified Hill and Moorland leader and First Aider we will carry everything just in case an incident occurs.

13. Safety Policy

Here at our client’s safety and comfort is our #1 priority. We are fully insured and follow industry walking guidelines to ensure you safely enjoy your walk.

14. What other services does provide?
